Julie serves as the Student Support Specialist, McKinney-Vento Liaison, and Special Education Paraeducator at WIHS, where she is dedicated to supporting the academic, emotional, and social success of every student. In her role, Julie provides direct support to students with special needs, advocates for those experiencing housing instability, and works closely with staff and families to ensure students have the tools they need to thrive. Her compassionate approach and commitment to equity make her a valued member of the school community.

Julie has called the Pacific Northwest home for over 30 years. She loves the natural beauty of Bellingham and enjoys the beautiful summers. At home, she shares her life with two silly dogs and a pushy (but lovable) cat, who all keep her on her toes.

Monica is the heart of the front office at Whatcom Intergenerational High School, supporting students, staff, and families with care and efficiency. With a strong background in organization, communication, and  record management, she keeps the school running smoothly behind the scenes. Born and raised in Bellingham, Monica has lived in Whatcom County her whole life and takes pride in supporting the community she calls home. 

She has a natural ability to connect with people and a genuine appreciation for the diverse experiences each student and family brings to the school. Monica enjoys creating an environment where everyone feels seen, supported, and valued. Outside of school, she finds joy in learning new things, helping others, spending time with her family, and caring for her dog and two cats - each with a personality that keeps life interesting.
